Animal activists cut from Goulburn abattoir equipment charged

NINE animal activists have been cut from equipment and charged after they chained themselves to a conveyor inside an abattoir at Goulburn, NSW. It is alleged three men and six women, aged between 21 and 61, entered the abattoir on Mazamat Road about 2.30am this morning. Police arrived at about 4am, after the owner asked the activists to leave and they allegedly refused. All nine activists were taken to Goulburn Police Station and charged with entering enclosed lands, interfering with the conduct of business and hindering police.
